The plot of the series revolves around three operatives Roman Rusakov, Vladimir Shchukin and Alexey Mukhin. In each episode of “Department”, operatives face new crimes. To uncover them, Rusakov’s team will have to deviate from the rules more than once, because their investigative methods are effective, but not always legal. But operatives are ready to make any sacrifices so as not to cave in to crime, not to betray their friends and the cause they serve. The through line through the entire series is the story of a cunning maniac who kills girls of easy virtue one after another. Investigators are struggling with the question of why the criminal attacks only “moths” and takes their lives with an army knife brought from Nepal. While understanding this case, they are trying to get the chief Ivan Ushanov out of the pre-trial detention center. He faces prison after he crossed the path of the deputy head of the Central Internal Affairs Directorate, General Alexander Kharlamov.
